Co-curator and Designer for the SAIC Student-led Exhibition at EXPO Chicago
This four-day exhibition was organized by graduate students in the Advanced Curatorial Practice course (ARTHI | ARTSAD 6110) at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, taught by Dr. Marin R. Sullivan.
Self-Made challenges the conventional notion of selfhood by exploring memory, language, and ancestral presence. Through material, form, sound, and scale, the participating artists investigated personal and imagined memories, offering viewers a chance to reflect on their own narratives and positionalities. The exhibition positioned autoethnography as both methodology and framework, inviting a collective reimagining of history and knowledge.
In this project, I collaborated closely with fellow curators on conceptual development, exhibition layout, and didactic materials. As the lead designer, I created the exhibition’s visual identity, including the poster and brochure, focusing on an intimate and evocative tone that matched the exhibition’s themes.
